We Made It!

In the Miami Airport waiting for the flight to San Juan - Kyla put me to sleep using Mom's secret trick!

This safety video is very interesting...I hope Mom is paying attention to this.

Are we there yet?

Ben successfully made his first plane trip this past Friday. We flew with the volleyball team from Minneapolis to San Juan, Puerto Rico. He did awesome - he even took a 2 hour delay on the runway in Miami in stride and didn't make a fuss. We left our house in Otsego at 4:45 am and landed in San Juan at 8:00 pm. The team and staff were a great help, I don't think I could have done it without them. We sure miss Dad, Bella, and Gaby though!

Ben's First Hockey Game

Ben had his first hockey experience when we went to watch my godson Matthew play in his district tournament. He was all bundled up in his snowsuit and watched two games that day. The second game went into 4 overtimes before Matthew's team eventually lost the heartbreaker. It was fun to watch him play though and I think he's the best skater out there (I may be biased but the boy can skate!).

Saturday mornings with Dad

A post from Benjamin:
I love Saturday mornings when my Dad comes in to get me and take me into Mom and Dad's room to cuddle in bed. We watch the morning news and maybe listen to some music while Mom gets a few extra minutes of sleep. Bella and Gaby are there too and we talk about what we are going to do that day. Someday Dad says I'll be big enough to take Bella outside myself and play with her. I'd like to take Gaby too but Mom says he's an "inside cat" only which doesn't make sense to me because he is always trying to get outside. Anyways, I'm going to miss the next two Saturdays with Dad because I am going to somewhere called Puerto Rico on something called a plane. Maybe Grandma will cuddle me there...

Clothes Horse

Retiring the brown puppy outfit and the Going to Grandpa's House outfit. There are really only a few time in you rlife that you can wear horizontal stripe pants and look cute...

Ben is growing more and more each day. I have already filled a plastic storage bin with clothes that no longer fit him. I remember thinking that he would never fit into some of them much less outgrow them! But thanks to a lot of generous gifts and grandparents (especially a certain one that lives in Oregon..), Ben is in no danger of not having new clothes to wear. I have some of his new summer wardrobe washed and ready to go as we are getting ready to leave for 8 days in Puerto Rico tomorrow. He got his first pair of sandels last night and he is ready to hit the beach in his swim trunks and swim diapers!
I apologize for not being very good at updating Ben's blog lately - going back to work last week has my schedules all mixed up but I'm sure I will be able to get into a semi-routine soon. Thanks to everyone who visits the site and I hope you keep coming back! Stay tuned for all the action in Puerto Rico!!

Swaddle Me Please

Ben sleeps in his swaddle blanket - great invention by the way - every night. He looks so cute - like a little worm! He is almost growing out of it so I thought I'd put some pictures up before its too small.

Go Gophers

Dad reading to Ben in their Gopher gear - not sure if Ben is buying the story....

Minnesota Hats Off To Thee

Minnesota, Minnesota, Yea Gophers!!

We are going to raise Ben as a die-hard Gopher fan (and Vikings, Twins, and Wild fan). He wore his Gopher outfit with pride last weekend - Mom and Dad wore Gopher gear also - and he is already learning the Rouser. Here's some pictures of him singing it!

Daycare

Ben after his first day at daycare - taking a nap on Mom

Ben all bundled up for his 2nd day at daycare.

I returned to work on Monday. It was great to be back and work with the girls again but leaving Benjamin at his daycare was one of the hardest things that I ever had to do. I have so enjoyed our time at home together, watching him learn new things and just spending time with him has been one of the greatest joys of my life so far. Chris and I cannot imagine life before Benjamin anymore and we both are anxious to get home every night to spend time together as a family. It seems like Ben is enjoying daycare so far - he has two new friends there that are two months older than him. I think it is harder on Mom to drop him off than it is for Ben! He is chattering more and more and he is all smiles when he wakes up in the morning. We are looking forward to our trip to Puerto Rico and Ben can't wait to see Grandma but we are going to miss Dad so much! I think Dad will miss us a bit too....
